In the early spring everything is so drab and grey and then suddenly the crocus pop out. I used graphite for the background image because it seemed right for that drab early spring. Kind of colorless and plain. The crocus were pale purple with brilliant yellow centers. Spring is on it's way. The worst of winter is over.
